What is Alipay?

Alipay is a Chinese electronic payment platform created and operated by Alibaba Group. According to statistics in 2024, it has 8.9 million active users. After you successfully register Alipay, you can use it to pay in CNY (RMB) whether you want to pay from Alibaba, 1688, Taobao, Tmall, physical stores, supermarkets or travel to China in the future.

Step 1️⃣

Open the App Store on your phone: As shown in the picture: Taking the Apple App Store as an example, search: "Alipay"

Step 2️⃣

Click "Sign UP", select the country code and fill in your phone number. 

At this point, you will be taken to the home page interface, as shown in Figure 2. Now click the "Me" menu button in the lower right corner.

Step 3️⃣

Click the "gear, ⚙️" icon in the upper right corner, and then click "Account and Security" to perform account real-name authentication.

Step 4️⃣

Click "identify information" to enter the detailed identity information list and fill in your personal information. (The review speed is very fast, sometimes even immediately.)

Now, without waiting, click the back button to return to the Alipay homepage.

Step 5️⃣

Now, you have come to the Alipay homepage. Please click the Scan button in the upper left corner (Alipay's QR code scanning payment function).

Step 6️⃣

On our checkout page, select the "Alipay payment" option. Then click the yellow button "Place Order".

You will then be directed to a billing page with an Alipay QR code. Use your mobile phone to scan the QR code.

Step 7️⃣

After scanning the QR code, it will pop up options as shown in the picture, please click: "Add a Bank Card" to bind your card.

Finally, make the payment according to the prompts. Congratulations, you succeeded.
